ABOUT ALEXA (she/her)

Indonesian-born Alexa King wrote her first song at eight, keeping her notebook and Nokia phone close by as inspiration struck. She enjoys incorporating cinematic elements into her music, bringing out grittiness and power in genres such as dark pop, hip-hop, R&B, and house.

Alexa achieved a degree in music production and sound engineering from Point Blank Music School, and further trained with renowned producers such as Aamir Yaqoub and American Music and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). She has worked in award-winning studios such as EastWest Studio and Lynchmob Studios and even had a private mentor session with legendary record producer Steve Lillywhite.

In 2021, Alexa signed a publishing deal with music mogul Kwame Kwaten and joined the Ferocious Talent Songs roster. During that time, she co-founded electronic pop duo LXDEE, whose debut EP "Survival Mechanism" was released this year. The duo's single "LONELY" was featured on BBC Music Introducing Radio and added to Future House Cloud's "Top Hits 2023" Spotify Playlist, showing a promising opening to the music scene.

Aside from music, Alexa has a TikTok with over 10M+ views and a fast growing follower base, where she creates relatable and authentic content about her life. Her stage name, "King," stems from her rejection of gender restrictions and her favourite catchphrase, "you don't have to be a man to be a King."
